Building Financial Expertise Since 2018
We started MindFocusNet with a simple belief: financial analysis shouldn't be an exclusive skill reserved for Wall Street veterans. Every analyst deserves access to proven valuation techniques that actually work in real markets.
From Spreadsheet Struggles to Teaching Success
Back in 2017, I was working late nights trying to explain DCF models to junior analysts who looked more confused after my presentations than before. The problem wasn't their ability – it was how financial education had become disconnected from actual practice.
That's when Svetlana and I decided to change things. We'd both seen talented people struggle with valuation concepts simply because traditional teaching methods focus on theory instead of application. So we built something different.
Our approach centers on real case studies from Asian markets, particularly Taiwan's dynamic financial landscape. Students work with actual company data, not theoretical examples that exist nowhere in reality.
What Drives Our Educational Philosophy
Practical Application
Every concept we teach connects directly to real-world analysis scenarios. No abstract theories that fall apart under market pressure.
Regional Expertise
We specialize in Asian market dynamics, helping analysts understand the nuances that generic courses completely miss.
Mentorship Focus
Learning financial analysis requires guidance, not just content. Our instructors work closely with each student's specific challenges.
Why We're Different
Most financial education treats valuation like a mathematical exercise. But valuation is really about understanding businesses, markets, and human behavior. We teach the analytical framework, then show you how seasoned professionals actually apply these tools when billions are on the line.
Meet Your Instructors
We're not just educators – we're practicing analysts who've made our share of mistakes and learned from every single one.
Kieran Bjørnstad
Kieran spent eight years at institutional investment firms before realizing that most analysts learn valuation through trial and error – an expensive approach. He's built valuation models for everything from Taiwanese semiconductor companies to Indonesian infrastructure projects.
Svetlana Kowalski
Svetlana bridges the gap between complex financial concepts and clear teaching. Her background in corporate finance and adult education helps students grasp difficult concepts without getting lost in jargon.
How We Actually Teach Financial Analysis
Forget memorizing formulas. We start with a company's business model, then build the analytical tools you need to value it properly.
Business Understanding First
Before touching any numbers, we study how the company actually makes money. Industry dynamics, competitive position, management quality – the foundation most courses skip entirely.
Build Models Together
We construct valuation models step-by-step, explaining every assumption and showing you how professionals handle uncertainty and market volatility.
Test Against Reality
Every model gets stress-tested against market conditions. You'll learn when DCF works, when multiples are better, and how to spot red flags that numbers alone won't reveal.
